Your private driver will meet you at your hotel in Havana at 9am for a full day trip to the most scenic part of Cuba, the Valley of Vinales in the Pinar del Rio province. A traditional Cuban lunch is included at the Finca Agroecológica “El Paraiso”.

Visit the provincial capital of Pinar del Rio and see how cigars are made at a local cigar factory. Take a panoramic drive through the spectacular scenery of the Viñales Valley and see the soaring limestone mountains known as “Mogotes”.

Enjoy a typical Cuban lunch in a rustic countryside restaurant and take a subterranean boat ride through the limestone caves in the valley.

Palacio del Valle, Cienfuegos

Spend two days exploring Cuba’s historic Colonial cities, Cienfuegos with its French colonial atmosphere and Trinidad a city preserved as a world heritage site and described as a living museum.

Visit the spectacular scenery of the Escambray Mountains and enjoy a nature trail to the largest waterfall in Cuba and visit Santa Clara the last resting place of Che Guevara.

Morning departure for Cienfuegos, a Colonial gem where you will spend some time exploring the city with its long boulevards and peaceful squares. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant.

Trinidad, Old Town

After lunch, your journey will continue to Trinidad, a city founded in 1514 and now totally preserved by UNESCO. Your walking tour of the cobbled streets and historic buildings in the city will include a visit to the Romantic Museum that depicts the colourful history of the city, and a local potters house selling Trinidad ceramics. Your time in Trinidad will end in the lively Canchanchara bar listening to Cuban music whilst sipping mojitos or Bucanero beer.

In the late afternoon, you will head up into the Escambray Mountains to hotel Los Helechos or similar, for dinner and overnight.

Visit the Che Mausoleum in Santa Clara

Enjoy a traditional Cuban lunch in a mountain hacienda and travel on to Santa Clara, a city of crucial importance in Cuba’s revolutionary history. On arrival, you will visit the Museum and Monument dedicated to the life of Che Guevara and also the Mausoleum and his final resting place, a sacred site in Cuba.

Day 2. After breakfast, you will be heading through the amazing tropical vegetation and mountain scenery to begin an easy trail along the river, where there is an opportunity to swim in the cooling waters under the El Rocio waterfall. The local guide will point out the various wildlife and exotic plants along the way.

 

Enjoy a traditional Cuban lunch in a mountain hacienda and travel on to Santa Clara, a city of crucial importance in Cuba’s revolutionary history. On arrival, you will visit the Museum and Monument dedicated to the life of Che Guevara and also the Mausoleum and his final resting place, a sacred site in Cuba.

This excursion will terminate back at your hotel in Havana in the early evening.

Day trip to Guama: Taino Indian Settlers, Treasure Lake and crocodiles.

Guama and the Treasure Lake, Bay of Pigs. Cuba.

A full day tour where you will be heading South East through the sugar cane and citrus fruit plantations towards the UNESCO preserved Zapata National Park. On arrival, you will be taking the boat from La Boca harbour through the mangroves and across Treasure Lake, a favourite fishing spot for Fidel Castro in his younger days towards Guama.

Guama is a replica of a typical village of some of Cuba’s earliest settlers the Taino Indians who lived on the island in the 1100s. Set on a string of small islands, there are also a number of life size sculptures depicting the life of these early settlers.

After returning on the boat, you will visit Cuba’s largest Crocodile sanctuary where you will see lots of crocodiles basking in the sun, before your lunch in a local restaurant.

There will also be some free time to enjoy the local area before heading back to Havana after an enjoyable day in the countryside.

Taste of Havana.

Introducing the main sights of Havana, this fully guided tour starts with a stroll through the bustling streets and quiet squares of Old Havana, preserved by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The tour will visit the historic and beautiful main squares including ” Plaza De Armas” and “Plaza De La Catedral” both dating back many Centuries and pass by many important sights, including the impressive “Capitolio” building, the former Presidential palace now the Museum of the Revolution , and the famous Hemingway bars.

Continue your guided tour, visiting Revolution Square, the focal point of modern Havana overlooked by the world famous mural of Che Guevara. After an introduction to all the main sights of Havana, the tour will finish with a drive along the Malecon sea front promenade to the Morro fortress that guards the harbour.

Lunch can be taken at the fortress overlooking Havana across the harbour waters at a small supplement.

All About Hemingway.

The one and only, Ernest Hemingway

The famous author Ernest Hemingway lived in Cuba for nearly 20 years and was a major influence on his life and globally recognized books. See where Hemingway lived, visit his favourite bars and learn all about his life in Cuba where he certainly left his mark.

First stop will be at Finca Vigia, his home on the outskirts of Havana, left untouched since the day he left Cuba and full of writers clutter with papers and books everywhere.

Continue to the fishing village of Cojimar, where Hemingway and his captain Gregorio Fuentes enjoyed their sailing passion. Visit Las Terrazas restaurant, a firm favourite for both Hemingway and his captain. Enjoy lunch here overlooking the sea.

Return to Havana in the afternoon, and visit the famous bars much frequented by Hemingway, the Floridita that has his favourite bar stool still preserved and Bodequita Del Medio where Hemingway had a crucial part in the development of the Mojito as a globally recognized cocktail.

Finally we will visit room 511 at the nearby Ambos Mundos hotel where Hemingway lived in his early years in Havana and from this room he wrote To Whom the Bell Tolls.

The Legend of Habano. Monday to Friday.

The best way to discover the secrets of an ancient tradition in the land of the best cigars of the world. This excursion includes a visit to a Cigar Factory, Cigar’s Museum, visit to the Cigar Smoker’s Hotel. Meeting with the roller of the house and tasting of a Havana. An evening tour to the Fortress of San Carlos overlooking Havana’s harbour to witness the Firing of the Cannon Ceremony. Taking place every night at 9pmit is a spectacular ceremony, symbolizing the closing of the harbour to protect Havana from pirates.

Watch the soldiers march out of the darkness dressed in their 18th Century military uniforms and prepare the Cannon under torchlight to be fired in true Military precision! Do the soldiers portray the act of the Spanish who built this fortress, the largest in the Americas, or the British who in fact ruled Havana for just over a year?

Our evening tour will take in the atmospheric, history and views of Havana with dinner in a local restaurant, culminating with a performance at the Parisien Cabaret!

We start at the Fortress of San Carlos overlooking Havana’s harbour to explore the ramparts and learn a little about Cuba’s rich colonial past. We will be there to witness the Canon Ceremony. Dating back to the 18th Century where the Cannon is fired at 9pm every night with a spectacular ceremony, symbolising the closing of the Harbour to protect Havana from pirates!
