Hawaii

Hawaii tailor made holidays

All About Tailor made Travel ATOL licence

Have you always thought of visiting Hawaii but never managed to do so because perhaps you thought the flights are too expensive and when you are there hotels and expenses might just be too much?  Have you perhaps considered spending your holidays in Hawaii at an All Inclusive beach resort? Flying to Hawaii isn’t as expensive as you think it might be. Yes, it is far, think of an 11-hour flight to Los Angeles followed by a second flight of approximately 6 hours.

Also, when travelling to Hawaii, there’s an 11-hour time difference so the day you fly to Hawaii, you will have your breakfast in the U.K. then two lunches in the plane and dinner in Hawaii, it will be a day with 24 hours plus 11 hours, so a very long day until you reach your hotel bed… All Inclusive beach hotels in Hawaii do not really exist. Hawaii being part of USA, operates either on a room only basis or bed & breakfast, half board of full board. There are four main islands in the Hawaiian Archipelago: Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Big Island. Then, there’s Molokai and Lanai, smaller islands just opposite Maui.

All Hawaiian Islands are very special and the Polynesian culture, music, dance, food, language is just so very special and unique… We have been to all islands in Hawaii and know the destination very well. We are always happy to build your multi centre Island-hop Hawaiian adventure and adjust it to your exact dates and budget. If you fancy a self drive holiday, we highly suggest you include car hire within your holiday quote because having a car is the best way to explore and travel in each island, visiting small villages in the mountain, secluded beaches, waterfalls and more. All our holidays are ATOL protected for your financial protection.

Flights from London to Hawaii start from £595 return, luggage fees included. Travel May to September. You can fly from London to Hawaii via Los Angeles, New York,  Los Angeles or San Francisco with either British Airways and American Airlines, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Delta and also with Air Canada or WestJet via Canada. All flights to Hawaii include one quick stop over.

Best places to visit in Hawaii

  • Oahu Island is perhaps the most popular and commercialised island in Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is a bit “where Miami meets Las Vegas with a Polynesian twist”. The beach in Waikiki is just too gorgeous with clear and turquoise waters and Diamond Head non active volcano in the background. Yes, it is busy in Waikiki Beach, with lots of hotels, bars, restaurants, shopping centres and so on. For a quieter holiday in Oahu Island, perhaps consider the North part of the island.
  • Big Island, our personal favourite island. Yes, it is the biggest island in the Hawaiian Archipelago (hence the name “Big”) and this island is home to Volcanoes National Park, one of the most impressive locations in the world.
  • Kauai Island is known to be the “laid-back” island and it is the smallest of the four main islands but yet, one of the prettiest.
  • Maui Island is a top favourite island for honeymooners and couples seeking for a romantic holiday. Ka’anapali Beach is one of the hottest spots to stay while visiting “The Rainbow Island”.

Best time to visit Hawaii

Hawaii enjoys tropical warm weather all year round. It is never cold in Hawaii, that’s a fact!
The official hurricane season runs from May to November but storms rarely happen.
Whale watching season in Hawaii runs from November to May each year. January to March are the best months for whale watching. The shallow Auau channel between Maui and the small islands of Lanai and Molokai is the best spot for seeing the Humpback Whales. Ka’anapali Beach and all hotels along the beach front do face Lanai and Molokai Islands so we highly recommend to stay in this part of Maui Island.

Top things to see & do while visiting Hawaii

  • Visit Kualoa Ranch (Oahu Island), with its dramatic mountains and Secret Island, a gorgeous semi private beach. You can go horse riding, do a tour on an e-mountain bycicle or do a movie tour. It is here that many big Hollywood movies have been filmed ( Jurassic Park, Hunger Games, Lost TV series and many more).
  • The Polynesian Cultural Centre (Oahu Island) is the perfect place to learn all about Hawaiian music, dance, cooking, traditional games, etc.
  • Pearl Harbour (Oahu Island). Learn about the tragic past that hit Hawaii during WWII.
  • Waimea Canyon (Kauai Island) is as spectacular as Grand Canyon in Arizona.
  • Na’Pali Coast is one of the most dramatic coastlines in the world and it can only be seen by boat (catamaran cruise) or by air (helicopter flight).
  • Volcanoes National Park and Akaka Falls (Big Island). Both attractions are near each other. You can perfectly spend two or three days walking and hiking different trails at this most amazing National Park with its super active volcano activity. The glowing at night is just mesmerising. Try to spend a night at Volcano Lodge, the only hotel inside Volcanoes National Park looking down into the main caldera or do a helicopter flight around this unique National Park.
  • Hapuna Beach is one of the best white sandy beaches in Big Island.
  • Waipio Valley (Big Island). Self drive to the view point, then hike down 1 kilometer to this most beautiful black sandy beach surrounded by waterfalls. Swimming here is dangerous though.
  • Did you know you can also find green sandy beaches in Hawaii’s Big Island. Ask us for details…
  • Self drive the famous Road to Hana in Maui. Small size car is highly recommended. Expect to find secluded remote beaches, waterfalls, lush forests and quaint small Hawaiian villages.
  • Haleakala National Park in Maui. Try to drive before sunrise and don’t forget to bring your winter jacket. You will need it.
