1
London - Cape Town

Direct flight London - Cape Town, British Airways Or Virgin Atlantic.

UK Regional departures available with alternative airlines.

Meet your local representative on arrival at Cape Town International airport, who will assist you with the collection of your hire car.

2
Cape Town

Wake up in sunny Cape Town and spend the day relaxing at Victoria and Alfred Water front, enjoy all the shops, restaurants, life music, lovely views towards Table Mountain...

Right here, at Victoria and Alfred Water front, you can take a ferry to Robben Island and enjoy a guided tour of this former prison where Nelson Mandela spent many years during apartheid years.

3
Cape Town

Another day in beautiful Cape Town.

Township Tour is a tour where you will learn a lot about the South African apartheid. Your guide will take you to District Six Museum and District Six, and explain what happened there back not that long ago.

You will also visit three major town ships, a Sangoma healer shop and a local school.

We understand this tour might not appeal to everyone but we have done it and found it really interesting.

4
Cape Town

How about popping into Camps Bay beach? From your hotel it will be a really long walk along Sea Point.

Perhaps it is better if you just drive for about ten minutes, then park and explore the white sandy beaches of Clifton, Camps Bay and Bakoven.

Drive another ten minutes further along the coast to secluded Llandudno, a perfect spot to enjoy a stunning sunset. Do not swim at Llandudno, the beach is beautiful but the currents are strong and the sea is a bit dangerous. Did we mention the water in this part of Cape Town is freezing?

5
Cape Town
Today it will be your fifth day in Cape Town and your last day, unless you choose to stay longer which is perfectly possible.

Take a cable car to Table Mountain National Park. The views from the top of Table Mountain are simply spectacular.

Drive along Chapman's Peak, visit bohemian Kalk Bay and the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Visit Cape Point National Park, it will take you all day to get there and come back and the scenic road is just amazing.

There is so much to see in Cape Town that perhaps packing it all in five days might not be enough...?

6
Cape Town - Stellenbosch
After breakfast, a leisurely one hour drive takes you to Western Cape wine region, the Cape Winelands.

Spend two days meandering through the pretty towns of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl and wine farms sampling their fine cuisine, tasting their wines and of course, browsing the many art galleries and boutique shops.

7
Stellenbosch - Hermanus

Morning drive to Hermanus, a small and gorgeous little coastal town and one of South Africa's best spots for whale watching.

8
Hermanus - Oudtshoorn

Drive through the arid Little Karoo along the Garden Route ending in Oudtshoorn - Route 62, a town renowned for its natural beauty and ostrich farms.

We highly recommend to pre book an early morning trip to a local farm for a close encouter with a meerkat colony.

9
Oudtshoorn
Oudtshoorn is the perfect place to disconnect.

If time allows, we would recommend you extend your stay in this beautiful part of South Africa.

10
Oudtshoorn - Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route
Full day free at leisure.
11
Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route
Spend a full day in Knysna.

While staying at Knysna, you can book a catamaran cruise or a visit to one of the nearby sanctuaries (Elephant Sanctuary, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden).

12
Plettenberg Bay - Pumba Water Lodge

Drive to the Eastern Cape, a malaria free zone and home to many private game reserves where you can enjoy an authentic African Safari experience.

  • 3 Nights Luxury Suite on full board basis at Amakhala Safari Lodge, Eastern Cape ( 2 Game Drives per person per day included ) Malaria Free all year round.
13
BIG FIVE SAFARI AT PUMBA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE. MALARIA FREE
Early start of the day.

Meet your guide just before sunrise at the main lobby at Amakhala Safari Lodge and start your morning game drive that will last +/- 2 and a half hours.

You will be in a special vehicle with a ranger that will know how to track animals.

Expect close encounters with the Big Five: Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes and Rhinos as well as monkeys, hyenas, kudus and many more friends of the Big Five.

Arrive back at the lodge on time for a full English breakfast.

Relax until your second game drive begins again later in the afternoon, when you will meet your guide again to start again another +/- 2 and a half hour of Safari Adventure, returning at the lodge on time for your dinner.

14
BIG FIVE SAFARI AT PUMBA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE. MALARIA FREE
Enjoy another day and two game drives with more encounters with the Big Five.
15
Return home
Drive in the morning to Port Elizabeth airport, approximately 55 minutes away.

Drop your rental car off at the airport for your return flight back home, via Johannesburg.

End of itinerary.
