Although, the city can be a little intimidating, Tokyo's first-class public transport system, makes travelling around quick and easy and with good preparation you can see a lot in a short amount of time.

Tokyo is divided into different districts, each of which has its own unique character.

Asakusa is home to Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, giving visitors a glimpse of Tokyo's past before the economic boom of the 1970s and 1980s.

Shibuya is Tokyo’s most fun and youthful district, attracting a lively mix of students and young professionals to its bars, restaurants, manga shops, and all night clubs.

The Ginza district, in the heart of the city, is a shopper's paradise with infinite boutiques and department stores interconnected with some of the city's finest restaurants and European style cafés.

These are just a few of the districts you can explore, however there are many more districts to see. Tokyo has a lot to offer, and even just exploring the city's streets is intriguing because there are always new sights, sounds, and flavours to discover. Optional Day Trip to Arashiyama
Arashiyama, which means "storm mountain" in Japanese, is a picturesque district in the north-west of Kyoto City.

Even though Arashiyama is part of the big city, it feels more like a tiny village with its quiet backstreets, cosy cafés, and calm atmosphere.

In addition, Tenryu-ji is one of Kyoto's most important Zen temples and behind it, there is a route which leads into the captivating bamboo woods.

The main site of the area is the Togetsukyo Bridge across the Hozugawa River which passes through a lovely gorge on its route to central Kyoto. Also, you can travel from Arashiyama on the so-called Romantic train through a breath-taking gorge and return on a traditional Japanese boat.

Another option for those who enjoy the outdoors is to visit Iwatayama, also referred to as "monkey mountain", to feed the friendly monkeys who run free across the mountainside.
