How we plan a honeymoon
Most couples come to us knowing roughly what they want and not knowing how to shape it. The conversation we have is usually the same three questions.
How much of it do you want to be a beach? This is the real decision. Some couples want fourteen nights of nothing. Most want a week of something and a week of nothing.
How soon after the wedding? You do not have to fly the next morning. Plenty of our couples travel two or three weeks later, and it is almost always a better trip for it.
What is the one thing you would regret missing? A safari, a particular island, a train journey, a restaurant. We build around that and fill in the rest.
Everything after that is our job: the routing, the room category, the transfers, and quietly telling every hotel that you are on honeymoon.
Honeymoon ideas by what you want
Beach and nothing else
One island, one flight, no packing twice. The Maldives for overwater villas, Mauritius if you want a resort with something to do, and the Seychelles for granite coastline and island-hopping.
Culture first, then beach
The most requested shape we sell. Sri Lanka and the Maldives, 13 nights from £2,495 · Japan and the Maldives, 14 nights · India’s Golden Triangle and the Maldives
Safari and beach
The pairing that made multi-centre travel popular in the first place. Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar · Cape Town, Stellenbosch and a luxury safari
City and beach
For couples who would rather not spend two weeks lying down. New York and Tulum · Los Angeles and Los Cabos · Las Vegas and Cancún · Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta
Somewhere different
The honeymoons we most enjoy planning. Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls and Rio · Chile and Argentina · Costa Rica and Panama

When to book a honeymoon
Nine to twelve months before the wedding for anything in July, August, Christmas or New Year, and for the Indian Ocean at any time of year. Overwater villas are the first thing to sell out anywhere, and the good ones go a year ahead.
Four to six months is comfortable for most other trips.
If your wedding is in the summer and you are reading this in January, you are booking at exactly the right moment. A £150 deposit each holds it, the price is then fixed, and the balance is not due until ten weeks before you fly.
How much does a honeymoon cost?
Our honeymoons start at £1,395 per person and most couples spend between £2,500 and £4,500 each for two weeks.
Three things move it more than anything else. The month — the Indian Ocean in August is a different price from the Indian Ocean in May. The room — an overwater villa is the single biggest jump on any Maldives itinerary, often more than the flights. And the shape of the trip — adding a safari or a second country costs less than most people expect, because the long-haul flight is already paid for.
What we add, and what we do not charge for
We tell every hotel that you are travelling on honeymoon, and most respond with something: a room upgrade where they have one, a bottle on arrival, a dinner. None of it is guaranteed and we will not pretend otherwise — but it is asked for on every booking, and it costs you nothing.
